We got new floors! We had all the carpet in the living room, hallway, and stairs ripped up and replaced with hardwood floors. They replaced the stairs entirely, built a new handrail, and put in tile on the landing. It looks very nice! The stairs and railings still need to be stained and/or painted, but otherwise it's all done. Here's a picture when they were only half-done with the floors, with the cats inspecting the work:

Here's the finished product, with some of our furniture moved in:

Unfortunately, now everything else looks old and worn out! So now we're thinking about getting a new couch, painting the walls, and all sorts of other stuff. We'll see how much of it actually gets done, though.

I hate writing, too, and don't add to my blog very often either! :)
It's good to see you on the e-world... Wanted to look you up when we were in CT for Xmas last year but we had a very sick baby. (She's 21 months old now!) We should be up in W. Suffield again for Xmas week this year, hopefully with a happier daughter. We'd love to see you!
Love,
Suzanne
Hi, Kristin! It's great to stumble on your blog in the e-world. :) I hate writing, too, so I can relate. I've been trying to keep a blog (to which I contribute very infrequently, I'm afraid), and trying to keep a journal (slightly more successfully). :)
Sorry we missed you last Xmas - we were up in CT but our then-10-month-old daughter was very sick. We're hoping to be up in W. Suffield again this December, with a healthy child! (not to mention our two dogs... crazy!)
We'd love to see you again. Congrats on your vacation house - it must be wonderful to have such a wild place to get away to. And congrats on your floors. They're beautiful!
Hope you are well. Drop me an email if you get the time - I'd love to hear from you!
Love,
Suzanne
